SVETLANA KUZNETSOVA
After winning the Wismilak International 2006, Svetlana went on to

compete and win in Beijing where she was the number 2 ranked player. She defeated top seed Amelie Mauresmo 64 60 in the final. Beijing was her third title so far this year and eighth of her career. Svetlana also reached the semi-finals of both Stuttgart and Zurich. Currently ranked 4 on the tour, she has qualified for the year end Sony Ericsson Championship in Madrid.
PATTY SCHNYDER
Patty reached the semi-finals in Bali but
loss to eventual runner-up Marion Bartoli. She went on to reach the quarter-finals at Luxemburg as number 3 seed where she loss to number 5 seed and eventual runner-up Francesca Schiavone. Patty Schnyder reached the semi-final at Stuttgart and the quarter-finals at Moscow. Narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Sony Ericsson Championship after losing 75 75 in the semi-finals at Linz to Maria Sharapova.
LINDSAY DAVENPORT
Reached singles semi-finals in Bali as No.3 seed, after defeating Hana Sromova in QF in her 900th career singles match before falling to top
seed and eventual champion Kuznetsova 76(4) 76(5). Lindsay captured her 36th career Tour doubles title in her first doubles event in over a year (w/Morariu; fifth title as a team). She then reached the quarter-finals at Beijing as No.5 seed but loss to top seed and eventual runner-up Mauresmo, snapping a nine-match win streak against the Frenchwoman.
DANIELA HANTUCHOVA Stunned in the first round at Bali as No.5 seed, Daniela reached the second round at Luxembourg after defeating Tatiana Golovin. She loss to No.4 seed Dinara Safina in the second round. She then went on to reach the quarter-finals at Stuttgart, falling to No.4 seed and eventual champion Nadia Petrova. Daniela then reached her first Tour singles final since August 2005 (Los Angeles) at Zurich, finishing runner-up, falling to No.2 seed Sharapova in three sets.
